STEVE MARTINSON, FPHL COACH OF THE YEAR
Binghamton, NY – The Federal Prospects Hockey League today announces its selection for the FPHL Coach of The Year. This is An annual award to the FPHL Coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success. This selection is from a voting process by (2) representatives from each FPHL member club and then a verification by the FPHL League Staff.
The FPHL Congratulates Steve Martinson of the Athens Rock Lobsters as the recipient for 2024-25 FPHL Coach of The Year.
Behind the bench, Steve Martinson, a veteran coach with over 1,000 professional wins, brought his championship pedigree to Athens and delivered immediate results. Under his leadership, the Rock Lobsters clinched second place in the Continental Division and established themselves as a contender from day one.
“This season has been one of the most rewarding of my career,” said Martinson. “I’d like to thank everyone that voted for me. This award is really a reflection of having really good players and an environment that allows them to excel. We have a great leadership group, and the guys are a fun team to coach and an entertaining team to watch. We came to Athens because ownership is committed to creating a winning culture—and now it’s the best time of the year. These awards are an amazing reflection of that collective buy-in, but the job’s not finished. Our eyes are firmly set on a championship.”
The FPHL is a Single-A Minor Professional hockey league operating in its 15th season during 2024-25.
